FC Deluxe Is..

Nearly everyone knows that Corvair trucks (FC) had an option for Deluxe Body Equipment, but it seems that very few know what exactly came with this option. I seen quite a few trucks who's owner thought they were a Deluxe, but were not in fact. Part of the confusion comes from the fact some of the equipment included in the Deluxe equipment were available as a separate factory options or dealer accessories. Hopefully I can end some of the confusion. Most of the information that will be presented will be from the 61 assembly manual. 62-65 trucks are probably about the same.
The Deluxe Body equipment option 431 was available only as factory option. It can be broken down into groups. The Rampside, loadside and Corvan in one group. And the Greenbrier in it's own group. First the easy one:
RAMPSIDE, LOADSIDE AND CORVAN
*1. | Right hand sunshade. (remember the ones that do not have one.) |
2. | Left hand arm rest. No, one was not available for the right. |
3. | Chrome around the front windshield instead of just rubber. |
4. | Reflectors on the rear doors or tailgate as the case may be. |
*5. | Cigarette lighter. |
6. | Chrome molding on the glove box door instead of the painted. |
*7. | Chrome hub caps. |

GREENBRIER
*1. | Right hand sunshade in white. Not the same as above. |
2. | Left hand and right hand arm rest in four colors: Red, Blue, Green and Silver. |
3. | Chrome around the front windshield instead of just rubber. |
4. | Reflectors on the rear doors or tailgate as the case may be. |
*5. | Cigarette lighter. |
6. | Chrome molding on the glove box door instead of the painted. |
*7. | Chrome hub caps. |
8. | Trim panels on all the doors and sides in four colors: Red, Blue, Green and Silver. |
9. | Padded mats covering the floors, wheel wells and engine cover. These to were available in four colors: Red, Blue, Green and Silver. |
10. | Spare tire cover in charcoal only. |
*11. | Rear dome light with switches to turn it on when any door except front ones were opened. |
